Student Placements

We are currently not accepting CVs for Student Placements.

ChilliBean is just as passionate about supporting young talent and promoting education as it is about the products we develop - which is why we run student placement schemes in conjunction with some of the best universities in the United Kingdom. Students can opt to take an industry placement at ChilliBean for either a 6 or 12 month period, to acquire the necessary skills and gain valuable experience whilst working within a real work environment.

What is the job?

ChilliBean has recently undertaken a system overhaul using Ruby on Rails as the primary framework for our systems. We are looking for web developers who are interested in helping build and improve our services using technologies such as Ruby on Rails and CouchDB. Experience in these technologies is not essential as training will be provided.

Required Skills:

Desired Skills:

Duties and Responsibilities:

As part of the development team, you will be working on systems written using the Ruby on Rails framework with a CouchDB database backend. You will be working within a small development team across multiple projects to deliver new functionality and maintain existing systems. The role will often require you to switch between back-end and front-end development, working alongside the design and development team.

Working Environment and Area:

ChilliBean is located in the centre of Soho, right in the heart of the West End of London, offering easy accessibility via train, tube or bus as well as plenty options for places to go out after work. ChilliBean is a small, (mostly) young company who like to have fun.

Type of Individual Required:

We are looking for someone with a keen interest in developing for the web and mobile, and who can fit into a small team. Individuals should be able and willing to try new things and offer a different approach to problems encountered when designing and developing web applications. We want someone who is not afraid to suggest a new technology or methods to solve a problem. As we are a small team with lots of on-going projects, candidates should be happy to work on a project without being micro-managed but are willing to ask for help when it’s needed.
